As I eagerly anticipate the May 2014 issue of Vogue Paris, I thought we'd take a look back at the May 2005 issue of French Vogue for our weekly flashback series.
The cover features German model Julia Stegner photographed by David Sims, and she wears a Christian Dior haute couture dress which was designed by John Galliano. Stegner was styled by Karl Templer, makeup applied by Diane Kendal and hair seen to by Guido. It's no wonder the cover shot turned out so dynamic.
This 242 paged issue is just full of surprises. We are treated to stories from Craig McDean, David Sims, Mario Testino, Karl Lagerfeld and Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin. Not to mention the list of models: Anja Rubik, Raquel Zimmermann and Michelle Alves to name a select few.
My favorite story from the entire issue is one entitled "A L'eau" which features Brazillian model Michelle Alves donning a number of swimsuits and beachwear. The editorial is photographed by Inez & Vinoodh against a white backdrop, with styling by Emmanuelle Alt. It's just classic I&V/Alt with a fantastic looking model doing what she does best.
