Just because things are heating up outside doesn’t mean you can’t add a frosty touch to your wardrobe—celebs agree that a pair of foiled trousers is the coolest way to wear the metallics trend.
Laura Whitmore went full metal in a matching silver jacket and pants at the TRIC Awards in London. Her sleek 90s styling with white platform sandals and a cropped shell allowed her Gerard Darel suit to shimmer. Pattern queen Solange Knowles honored Michael Kors at the United Nations World Food Program dinner for the designer by wearing a pair of his Samantha cloud print trousers from the Spring 2013 collection. Look for a pair with a sophisticated pleat and straight cut like Knowles’ to keep them out of pajama territory. Diane Kruger gave a pair of Prabal Gurung’s Pre-Fall 2013 flowered tuxedo pants in vibrant pink, blue and black an urban treatment with a crop top at the recent Vogue and MAC Cosmetics dinner. Alana Zimmer glammed it up at the same event as Knowles, lighting up a background of black basics in a gold pair of ikat print trousers. Jaime King caught the light in foiled gunmetal pants and an origami-like blouse in the front row at Prabal Gurung. Take a cue from these ladies and let your foiled pants shine by pairing them with a neutral top and minimal accessories.
