Patricia Field and David Dalrymple unveiled their Destination Style New York collection at The Edison Ballroom on Saturday, September 6th. The venue with its cushioned, black walls and disco balls was the perfect backdrop for the vibrant collection complete with all the sparkle, glitz, and glam that we’ve come to associate with Field.
The drag-queen studded event with Andre J front row next to Patricia Field was a nice respite from the typical stiff fashion show. There was dancing and mingling while guests munched on grilled cheese, sliders, and crab cakes as they downed their champagne.
The show itself was more of a production than a typical runway show with one model strutting down the catwalk with a car-wheel in tow, ending her walk by hopping in a parked race car where she proceeded to faux-drive.
Among the stand-out looks were a black sequin jumper, a fuchsia ruffle dress, gold lame leggings, and a gorgeous fitted black trench with pleats in the back.
Anyone who loves Patricia Field’s Bowery store with it’s silks, metallics, prints, patterns, sequins, and all around flare, will go gaga over this collection that Field says was inspired by “Sex and the City” and “The Devil Wears Prada.” The line will be available for purchase on HSN begininig September 23. in addition, the collection will be sold at Marks & Spencer in the UK and Myer in Australia.
