So often, the world of fashion is cast as frivolous, trivial and vapid by detractors and the mainstream media who don't see it for the art form it is. Coverage tends to focus on the size of models or photographers and CEOs corrupted by their positions of power. And while these are worthy subjects to discuss, what gets left out are the positive efforts of the highly creative individuals who keep toiling away in spite of the bad press by privately funding and creating charities to give back to the less fortunate.
