Meet Your New Green Juice Obsession: Aloha

Aloha

We admit we’re fans of green juice. Health in a bottle and tastes good? Sign us up! But then we started hearing the whispers that our beloved kale-pineapple-spinach mix wasn’t as healthy for us as we thought. The lack of fiber and the high sugar content were making this a nutrition no-no. Talk about a buzzkill.

That is until we found Aloha. You’ve probably seen the ads all over your Facebook page. Aloha is a powdered green juice (and a berry juice and a chocolate one) that you can mix into a smoothie or with coconut water, or, heck, a cocktail (retox and detox). You can even make salad dressing with it. Why would you want to do this? Well, it’s pretty darn healthy. The powders are high in fiber and nutrients, and have your full day’s worth of vegetables. They’re free of artificial anything, and are entirely vegan and gluten-free. The brand also has a line of vitamins. We recommend blending the powders with almond milk and pineapple juice. Mixing the powders well is a necessity.

On top of the products are the aspirations of the man behind Aloha, Constantin Bisanz. His goal is to take on Nestlé as a top food provider in the U.S. But instead of super processed junk food, he wants people to have access to affordable, healthy options. (The green juice powders run $2.50 a packet versus $10 to $12 for a bottle of juice.) Lofty ambitions, yes, but Bisanz isn’t the type of guy to let anything get in his way: He broke the world record for kitesurfing across the Bering Strait. He developed the formula for Aloha after studying Ayurvedic philosophy in India. (Did we mention he is also friends with Richard Branson and rather attractive?)

We spoke with Bisanz about his philosophy on the company, the powders and of course, kitesurfing.

theFashionSpot: How long did it take you to perfect the Aloha drinks as they are now?

Constantin Bisanz: We worked for more than two years with the world’s top doctors, scientists, holistic health coaches, Ayurvedic practitioners, professional athletes, trainers and yogis. Each of our products are formulated to provide the exact nutrition we are lacking in the American diet.

tFS: How is Aloha different from other health brands?

CB: We test our products more than 10 times for efficacy, purity and quality. With our patented proprietary technology, we are able to maintain all the nutrients and fiber that other green juices don’t provide. We’ve also made it affordable for everyone to stay healthy. We are organic, vegan, gluten-free and don’t use any chemicals ever.

tFS: What’s your personal philosophy about life?

CB: My philosophy is that life is short, and we all have to live our life being aware that it is very short, even if you grow old to 120 years, that is still relatively short. We must make the best out of it, to be a very happy person and to be able to inspire other people, and help other people make a difference, make a change in the world. Not just participate in life, but be a creator of it. I love to create, I love to have fun, I love to spend as much time as possible with friends and family.

tFS: What’s surprised you the most on this journey to create Aloha?

CB: That it doesn’t feel like work, it’s a true passion, and how many like-minded people are out there. How easy it is to get connected with amazing people.

tFS: What do you think is the number one unhealthy habit most people have?

CB: Consuming the wrong products because they are put in front of them. Drinking unhealthy drinks filled with sugar, or eating the wrong food just because they are right in front of your nose. With Aloha, I hope to educate consumers to make better decisions about their health and nutrition.

tFS: You’re an avid kitesurfer and broke a pretty impressive record. What made you want to cross the Bering Strait?

CB: I love kitesurfing in rough conditions, it’s an incredible challenge, it pushes your limits to the edge. I like the combination of beautiful nature, the camaraderie with the amazing team I was there with and that no one has done it in that way. It was just a great challenge…and I love the adventure!

tFS: What’s your one guilty pleasure?

CB: Kitesurfing in storms. I love the thrill of it!
